Statement of Financial Philosophy

The KCCHS Leadership Team uses this philosophy as a guideline in establishing membership fees and dispensing those funds for the purpose of supporting homeschooling in Kane County.

The membership fees may be used to:

•  Pay for administrative expenses (e.g. office supplies, photocopying, postage, web site, etc.)

•  Honorariums for outside speakers at KCCHS sponsored events or meetings.

•  Supplement group activities (e.g. Mom's Brunch).

•  Fund group resources (e.g. Resource Library).

•  Pay facility use fees for KCCHS sponsored events or meetings (e.g. monthly support group meetings).

•  Support state-level homeschool support organizations (e.g. Illinois Christian Homeschool Educators (ICHE), Christian Home Educators Coalition (CHEC)) primarily dealing with legal/legislative issues.

•  Pay for fees so that members of the leadership team can attend the annual ICHE Legislative Convention.

•  Planning and funding of KCCHS Graduation Exercise to include all pre-approved expenses with the exception of diplomas.

Purchase gifts of appreciation for non-members who provide assistance or services to KCCHS (e.g. maintenance staff for facilities we use).

•  Purchase gifts of appreciation for long-standing KCCHS members who are leaving our group.

•  The membership fees will NOT be used to pay KCCHS members for activities or services that are considered voluntary in nature. This includes the Leadership Team which is purely a voluntary position.

In addition:

The Leadership Team can establish the annual registration fee and any required supplementary fees on an activity-by-activity basis. All supplementary fees, if any, will be on a per-cost per-use basis. The Leadership Team must carry a positive balance to fund activities throughout the year and to pay for startup costs for the next school year.

KCCHS does not refund membership dues.

KCCHS does not refund fees for educational enrichment activities (or events) unless specifically stated in event registration and/or informational literature.
