Political Campaigning

KCCHS rallies to pursue the best interests of its member families on issues concerning homeschoolers or affecting the freedom of home schooling in the State of Illinois or this Nation.

We encourage our members to be actively involved in the political process as responsible citizens, especially involving issues directly affecting our freedom to educate our children and the rights of the family.

Politicians may be invited to speak at KCCHS events in order to educate us about homeschooling-related political issues or impart knowledge pertinent to us as homeschooling parents. However, KCCHS is not a political platform. We will not publicly endorse any candidate or allow any active campaigning at our gatherings or meetings. We will, however, with prior leadership approval, allow campaign material to be placed on a table at the Support Group meetings so it may be picked up by our members if they so choose.

The KCCHS Legal Liaisons are responsible for forwarding information on legislation affecting homeschooling to interested members. They may also forward political material as long as it is of informational nature and not an endorsement.
